So what happened this month? I guess the next phase in my life as I got married to my long-time girlfriend. No big ceremony, just a small civic wedding at city hall with a few friends. Could you believe that was the very first time in 29 years that I've ever been to Toronto City Hall?! Crazy.

Happy Family Day!

Hope every one who has the day off is enjoying the time off. This is my first Family Day since it was introduced last year. I must say it's awesome to have a long weekend in February. They should have done this sooner! Jenn and I had our wedding dinner celebrations with our families this weekend. It was great to see my nieces and nephew and we both welcome each other into our respective families. It was indeed a day of good food as I had dim sum in the morning with my family and then the traditional chinese meal at night. Lots of good food.

Jenn and I also decided on a destination for our "honeymoon". We're going to Las Vegas! Woohoo! The prices are hard to pass up and it's gonna be a blast! I can't wait to go! My vacation has already been approved so now we're just waiting. We're gonna go watch a few shows and walk around all the hotels to see their free stuff. Probably see a few other attractions and eat lots of good food. We decided not to go to the Grand Canyon as it's a four hour drive. We don't want to waste a day driving around. Maybe we'll catch a glimpse of the canyon when we fly over it.

Star Wars Galaxy 4 is being released this week! It's going to probably be my last big purchase for a while until I unload some more sketch cards and autographs. With the economy doing so poorly, the market being flooded and the high print runs, there's a pretty big glut in the sketch card market. I just may sit on the sidelines for a while unless there are some crazy deals that I can't refuse.

Anyways, back to enjoying the rest of the day. Cheers!

So I'm married! Woohoo! Jenn and I tied the knot at Toronto City Hall at the Wedding Chapel. We were surrounded by 13 friends that we had invited. It was a short ceremony but it was great! We took pictures and afterwards we all headed to the Pickle Barrel for some food. Yes, the Pickle Barrel. It was awesome. Being able to just go somewhere and not worry about anything except what to order was great. No "traditions" had to be observed etc. It was just a bunch of friends together celebrating our wedding.

After dinner and an awesome cake that one of Jenn's friends bought, we decided to head to a pub or bar which had tv to watch the Leafs vs. Habs game. We ended up at the Elephant and Castle, where we witnessed the Leafs beating the Habs 5-2. Getting married to the woman I love, celebrating with friends, Leafs beating Habs, couldn't get any better!

From there it was a trip home. That was it! Nothing else, almost like a night out with the exception that I'm married now! My wife Jenn and I both aren't feeling too different. I think it will hit me a little later...like full impact hit me. I haven't really told any one at work so it will probably hit when I say "and my wife..." or something similar. Next week is the official dinner with both families to celebrate the occasion. Maybe it will sink in then.

Thanks to all who sent congratulations and well wishes! Cheers!

Gah...that was another frustrating loss for the Maple Leafs. They couldn't hold on to a lead again and lost in OT. Though, I'm frankly surprised that they have had leads in so many of their games. Their offense is so explosive at times and dismal others. Will be interesting to see who is still a Leaf in a month.

So far, my new position as RIM has been pretty good. There was a steep learning curve and I got thrown into the fire but it's been stressful and fun. I'm back doing IT support work but with a much broader scope than my previous position. It's unfortunate that I am losing some of the knowledge I had back then. The pros definitely outnumber the cons here. I'm back in Toronto, living with Jenn, have a place to ourselves, close to family, back in a big city, closer to friends. Too many good things. Now if Jenn and I could only get off our butts and go out more.

Less than a week to go and I'll be married! It hasn't really sunk it yet that soon I will not be single. Heck, if things go well, in a few years I'll be a father too...wow...I am getting old. Does that mean I have to get a minivan and move to suburbia? That would be interesting indeed. Anyways, just rambling tonight to get the blogging juices going again. Nobody probably visits this site anymore, but it's an outlet for me. Cheers!

It's Super Bowl Sunday! Too bad I don't have any cable television so no watching the commercials this year. It doesn't matter anyway, we get stuck wtih the Canadian versions of the commericals and not the US versions. Besides, with YouTube, you can get the videos pretty quickly.

Man, with the global economy the way it is right now, the sketch cards I'm selling just aren't cutting it anymore. There's this huge glut that was partly created by manufacturers and there's also an increase of sellers on Ebay as well. I think I might hold on to a few of the nicer ones and try to get rid of the other ones in bulk to make some money back. I did manage to get a 1st print of Amazing Spider-Man 583 with the Barack Obama appearance. That book is just so overpriced it's stupid. As the US is gripped by Obamania, the collectors and speculators are out in full force. I feel sorry for people who actually just want to read Amazing Spider-man. I'm wondering if I should just sell my copy as is or get it CGC'd. I'm not gonna read it so it's a good book to grade. We'll see. I hear the book has just gone to a fifth printing.

Are people that excited that Barack Obama is President. America needed change and when you had a woman and an African-American running for the Democratic nomination and then a bad reputation for the Republican party...it's almost a surefire win. Umm...it's a two party system and I think the states and enough of the Republicans. Obama's got a tough job ahead of him and I hope that all this take about him being a "saviour", etc is downplayed so he can get the job done. I hope he does do a fantastic job and guides the States out of the recession.

So it's a shame that he's already heading towards the direction of protectionism. Another short-term gain strategy that would really hurt in the long-run. I hope that the future policies of this US government aren't protectionist as that indeed will be bad news for the rest of the world. I'm sure other countries will be forced to follow suit and it will just prolong the bad.

Anyways, go Steelers! Woohoo!
