Reviews - Warlord #8
This series has been confusing from the very beginning. Issue 8 is no different. There are times when I do understand what is going on because I have to ignore some of the information provided. I couldn't even begin to write a quick synopsis of what has happened so far.
In this particular issue, the Warlord is dead?!! When did that happen? I don't remember the last issue showing the Warlord dead. Sigh. Meanwhile, Brovis is with Terry and Alexa fighting a T-Rex on some island. Terry is busy fixing the ship and right when the Shamballans execute Regine, the ship turns back on and Warlod awakens. Warlord gets angry at the Regine's executioners and abruptly kills everyone and the issue ends. WTF?!
Bruce Jones has done a terrible job with the new Warlord series. I've never been introduced to the Warlord character so I don't have any background. The story is confusing and just not enjoyable. After this issue, I've decided to drop the title altogether.
I originally picked up this series because Bart Sears was providing the art. I must say, I don't like his current style of just using inks. The lines are thick and the art looks messy and lazy. Sears art has really declined over the recent years. If you take a look at Justice League Europe and Spawn, the artwork is amazing. His work on X-Men Days of Future Present and Warlord are mediocre at best.
Not worth the cover price.
